Ethiopian opposition provoked the death of 300 people

During the festival, in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, timed to coincide with a religious holiday, the opposition members, were dispersed in the crowds, chanted anti-government slogans.

The police decided to use teargas against the opposition and possibly rubber bullets.

This caused panic at the festival, tourists began to disperse and  the resulting stampede killed more than a hundred people.

Previously, when dispersal of the rally earlier this month during a similar event 125 died in the hospital, and even earlier - 50 people have died.

Thus, the total number of people killed in the course of events in Ethiopia is close to 300 per a month.
