US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley reacted sharply to a vote in the UN Security Council on the resolution against Washington's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The UN Security Council dared not agree with the US position. Washington responded with a veto.

"What we witnessed here today in the Security Council is an insult. It won't be forgotten. It's one more example of the United Nations doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," Haley said in remarks following her veto.
