More troops are needed against Taliban in the South says Afghan Official

An Afghan security official states that  troops fighting   Taliban in southern Helmand province desperately need reinforcements.
On Wednesday the  Provincial chief of police, Gen. Abdul Rahman Sarjang, claims that government forces are facing serious challenges in Lashkar Gah Helmand's capital.
Sarjang says Afghan "forces are exhausted" and are in need of reinforcements. He also pointed out that the  lack of coordination between the army and police is complicating the progression of the fight.
The Taliban  stand strong in seven districts — Sangin, Gereshk, Khanashin, Musa Qala, Nawzad, Washer and Marjah — and  that three districts of the capital are in danger, says Rahman Sarjang.
Helmand is a strategically crucial  region for  Taliban forces. It borders with  Pakistan and grows opium, the raw material for most of the world's heroin.
