Iranian President visited Fidel Castro

The leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro received the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who is visiting Cuba. Hassan Rouhani praised the contribution of the Cuban people in the struggle against injustice.

In addition, the Iranian president held a meeting with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro. Leaders of the two countries are under US sanctions, reaffirmed their readiness to further develop cooperative relations and exchange of experience. Rouhani and Castro also exchanged views on other regional and international issues.

Rouhani's visit was preceded by a visit of the Iranian delegatiheaded by the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, held in late August.
