Russian leader Vladimir Putin approved the Foundations of State Policy on Nuclear Deterrence. The relevant resolution appeared on the official website of legal information.
In one paragraph of the document, four conditions are identified that determine the possibility of Russia's use of nuclear weapons.
Firstly, such a step is likely upon receipt of confirmed information that ballistic missiles were launched in the direction of our country or allied states.
Secondly, when the enemy uses nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction against the Russian Federation or allied countries.
Thirdly, in the event of an attack by an adversary on any of the state or military Russian objects of special importance, the failure of which will provoke a breakdown in the response of nuclear forces.
The last condition highlighted aggression against the Russian Federation using, in particular, conventional weapons, but which plunges the very existence of our country into danger.
