The office of the so-called “government of national unity”, based in Tripoli, appointed Muhammad Ali Al Huwayj economic advisor to the “Prime Minister” Fayez al-Sarraj.
This is stated, as reported on January 19, 2019 by Agenzia Nova from Tripoli, in a press release of the “presidential council”.

From 1977 to 2011, Muhammad Ali Al Huwayj served as finance minister at the National Congress and Legislature of the Libyan Jamahiriya. He also led the Libyan Arab Foreign Investment Company (Lafico). This company was a Libyan state investment bank operating from 1982 to 2006 and based in Tripoli; since 2006, it has been replaced by the Libyan Investment Authority. Both institutions were controlled by the government of the Libyan Jamahiriya.

The Libyan Jamahiriya, its government and government agencies were destroyed in 2011 by NATO alliance aggression.
