China has suspended debt collection from developing countries

The Chinese government is ready to pause debt service from 77 countries. This is due to the current unfavorable epidemiological situation in countries.

China has suspended debt collection from developing countries. This is stated in the White Paper "Combating COVID-19: China's Actions," published by the State Council of the PRC.

Initially, a similar initiative was taken by the G20 member countries. The Chinese authorities decided to support this proposal. In addition, China intends to expand assistance to African countries. The PRC authorities send seven expert groups and render all possible assistance to the continent.

Recall that the White Paper "Fighting COVID-19: China's Actions" was published by the press office of the State Council of the PRC on June 7. It outlines the actions of the PRC government to combat coronavirus from December 27, 2019 to the end of May of this year.
