On August 2, a regular meeting of the African Discussion Club will take place in Moscow. The central theme of the event will be the situation in Libya.

The National Values Protection Fund has been monitoring the political and socio-economic situation in this African country for a long time.

Unlike most foreign organizations, the Fund does not interfere in Libyan internal affairs. The only danger of sociological research conducted by its staff is that thanks to them, the secret becomes apparent.

In June 2019, specialists of the National Values Protection Fund conducted a formalized telephone survey in Libya. The interview was attended by 1109 respondents. When constructing the sample, the gender, age and region of residence of the respondents were taken into account.

The Foundation’s research data clearly showed that UN-recognized political leaders of the country do not have the support of Libyan citizens. On the other hand, Khalif Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army, and Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of Muammar Gaddafi, have the highest popular support rating.

With the start of the anti-terrorist operation, the rating of Marshal Khalifa Haftar began to grow steadily. Now the Haftar rating is 32.3%.

The rating of Fayez Sarraj, head of the Presidential Council of Libya, in March 2019 was 7.1%. But after recent events, it fell to 3%.

The rating of the head of the Supreme State Council of Libya, Khaled al-Mishri, and now is no more than 1%.
