300 soldiers were sent to Georgia

The flagship of the U.S. 6th Fleet command and control ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) has gone into the port of Batumi, where there are 300 servicemen of the US Navy. They are planning to hold naval war games together with the coast guard of Georgia.

In addition to it, a series of meetings with the high military leadership of Georgia must be passed. The first one took place after the ship's arrival in the port where the US crew was met by the delegation of representatives of the authorities.

The US Embassy in Georgia informs that the visit has scheduled character. In the statement of The Embassy was said: «This visit to the port of Batumi enhances maritime security, stability, readiness, and strengthens partnerships with our allies and partners».
