Mosul’s liberation could take longer
This was stated by the president of the Kurdish autonomy of Iraq, Massoud Barzani.
Over the course of last week, attention was focused on two key points in the Middle East. These points are Syrian Aleppo and Iraqi Mosul where operations are being carried out to liquidate terrorists.
The US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter is paying a visit to Turkey today Friday, October 21st. The chief of the Pentagon is meeting with all key partners of the Counter-Daesh coalition. He also plans to discuss the current situation in Iraq, including the start of the fight for Mosul, as well as a number of other issues.
This was officially announced by Iraqi Prime Minister al-Abadi. Preparations for the operation have lasted about a month.
The chief of the Pentagon said that an additional 560 US servicemen will help the government of Iraq to capture Mosul, which is still under control of the terrorists.
