PROXY WAR PARALLELS: SYRIA AND CAMBODIA

On the outset, it seems that Syria and Cambodia have little in common, are in very different regions, and have very different cultures. But it is striking that the Cambodia proxy war from 1979 to 1993 (post-Khmer Rouge rule) seems to be replicated by the current proxy war on Syria.
