Terrorists blew up the facade of a Roman Theatre in the center of Palmyra

The terrorist group "Islamic state" in recent weeks destroyed several ancient monuments in Palmyra, during this a facade of a Roman theater and the famous architectural complex tetrapylon consisting of four columns has been damaged.

The extent of destruction is not reported, but it has been confirmed that the images of the sites that were attacked, have already been received via satellite.

According to these data, the attack could be made in the period from 26 December to 10 January.

The Russian General Staff voiced stated that, the terrorists transferred another batch of explosives to Palmyra , which can be used in many ways including for the destruction of historical monuments.
