Shinzo Abe visits USA

Thursday, 17 November, 2016 - 10:30

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be the first world leader to meet with Donald Trump. Earlier the US President-elect only met with British politician Nigel Farage, who initiated Brexit.

This summit is expected to emphasize the immutability of the US policy toward Japan after Trump’ victory. However, Shinzo Abe is going to intend to pursue US ratification of the TPP, which is already mostly unlikely.

After this visit to the US Japanese Prime Minister will participate in the APEC summit in Peru, where he will continue to discuss the TPP and other economic projects with Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin. There is no information about the possible meeting Shinzo Abe with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders.
