Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry have resumed talks on Syria

In Switzerland, another round of talks about the situation in Syria begins. The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the US Secretary of State John Kerry and the The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Javad Zarif and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey  Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the representatives of the top leadership of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq are going to participate in this meeting.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation declared that Sergey Lavrov would not put forward new claims. The Minister added: «We hope the meeting would result in launching a serious dialogue on the basis of the principles contained in the Russian-American deal»

In a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the foreign ministers would meet in Lausanne, Switzerland «to consider possible further steps to create conditions for the settlement of the Syrian crisis».

Moreover, a bilateral meeting between Sergei Lavrov and John Kerry is going to be held, which on the one hand, in some way will bring closer together Russia and the United States. On the other side and most likely according to the Foreign Minister of Russia no significant changes will bring in this difficult situation.

Such possible meetings with the representatives of Near East States are considered as being more fruitful and interesting.
