New coronavirus detected in Beijing is considered even more contagious

The coronavirus detected in the wholesale market in Beijing is probably more contagious than the one found in the seafood market in Wuhan, said Yang Zhanqiu, professor of virology at the Wuhan University Medical Department.
"During the evolution, the infectivity of the virus may increase, or may weaken. But I believe that the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus detected on the Xinfadi market is more contagious than the one on the Huanan market in Wuhan," Yang said  Zhanqiu in an interview with Huanqiu Shibao.

He recalled that the Wuhan Health Committee officially notified the new virus at the end of December last year, by January 17, 2020, a total of 62 confirmed cases had been registered, which is more or less close to the number of cases already detected in Beijing.  And although now the technical capabilities are much better and the number of tests carried out is much larger, "the results were still a surprise."
