London will not ask the EU for Transition Extensions, said Michael Gove, Minister for the Cabinet Office on June 12 at a press conference.

Gove said that on January 1, 2021, Britain would regain independence. The country is not going to extend the transition period, despite disagreements on some issues. At the same time, Scotland and Wales asked the government to extend the transition period.

London and Brussels have not yet agreed on a trade agreement. In particular, the controversial issue was the access of European fishermen to British waters. It is reported that in the absence of a single agreement by the end of 2020, EU-UK relations will be broken.
