Lavrov sends message of greetings to Tillerson voicing hope for better relations

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Rex Tillerson as President Donald Trump's secretary of state. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has sent a message of greetings to Rex Tillerson, where he has expressed the hope for better relations between Russia and the United States. 

Sergey Lavrov has also remarked that these relations “suffered great setbacks during the Obama administration,” but now they are going to take a turn for the better.

Moreover, “Russia and the United States have quite a few areas for cooperation to the benefit our peoples and the whole world,” a source at the Foreign Ministry reported.
