The governments of India and Nepal deny the meeting with Xi Jinping

The Secretariat of the Prime Minister of Nepal announced about the past trilateral meeting of the leaders of Nepal, India and China by posting the photo, in which there were the Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his wife, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and the Chinese President Xi Jinping. It has been reported that they have reached certain agreements during this meeting.

However, the Nepalese government said later that the Secretariat of the Prime Minister misleads the public. Moreover, the former Prime Minister of Nepal, Sharma Oli and the former colleague of Pushpa Kamal Dahal Baburam Bhattarai made some very undiplomatic comments on this matter.

The Indian government confirmed that the scene in the photo was random, rather than the planned meeting.

Meanwhile the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, having arrived in Nepal from India, confirmed reporters that the meeting was unplanned, but according to his words it was a luck one. During a 20-minute meeting the leaders managed to discuss all the topical issues of the region.

The communist Pushpa Kamal Dahal, one of the former Maoist commanders, has taken recently office, although from 2008 to 2009, he headed the government of Nepal. Increasing the Chinese influence and reducing the influence of India have become significantly after his coming to power.
