After some sharp statements of Duterte to end military cooperation with the US and Trump’s victory, Filipino and US troops began training exercises aimed at combating terrorism.

This year annual exercises are going to be held on an abbreviated program: the joint firing will not be. The emphasis will be made operations on accident prevention.

However, the Defense Minister Delfin Lorenzana said that the country was going to reduce the total number of joint exercises with the United States - from 28 to 10 per year. Moreover, one of the events already canceled was training landing.

At the same time, the president of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte reported that he had already sent a request to Vladimir Putin for a meeting during the forum in Peru.
