What is behind the provocation against the Russian deputies in Georgia?

The scandal in the building of the Georgian parliament and the disruption of the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy is an important indicator that Western influence networks consider a real threat in the post-Soviet space

The provocation against the Russian delegation in the Georgian parliament and the riots in the streets of Tbilisi is an important reason to talk about which vectors will attack Russia and our people from the outside and from the inside in the near future. Recall that on the eve of an aggressive group of protesters broke into the parliament building to interfere with the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy - an organization uniting parliamentarians from 25 countries. The organization's events are held in different states, this time they were supposed to receive delegates in Georgia. State Duma deputy Nikolai Zemtsov, who was in the Georgian parliament as part of a delegation from Russia, said what happened after the assembly began:

They broke into the plenary hall, blocked the central platform and demanded that the Russians leave the meeting hall, then the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy could be continued.

It did not go without assault, in the best traditions of the parliaments of the states in the post-Soviet space. When the security service attempted to withdraw one of the provocateurs, he decided to make fun of the cameras. It was decided to suspend the meeting. After that, unrest began on the streets of Tbilisi, and it finally became clear that this was not just the spontaneous expression of will of the Georgian nationalists and patriots against the so-called “occupiers of Abkhazia and South Ossetia,” as some media outlets represent, but a well-coordinated special operation.

Just look at the photos from the meeting room. There broke through the people wrapped not only in the Georgian flag, but also in the flag of the European Union. We all remember which politician introduced the fashion for the presence of two symbols in the public space at the same time.

Many people who are well acquainted with Georgian politics claim that the same people took part in the protest actions the day before and that they advocated the legalization of drugs and so-called same-sex marriages a few months ago. And they all disrupt the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, the body that is called upon to foster dialogue between countries on the principles of the traditional values of our peoples, and not the modern anti-moral. Apparently, the forces that are gradually drawing in the fragments of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union in a different political project do not like this very much.

By and large, Russia received an extremely important signal from those who would not like to restore its influence in the post-Soviet space in one form or another. Today, when political contacts and agreements reached even at the highest level, depreciate, belonging to a single civilization is becoming one of the most important factors. The well-planned attack that we observed was carried out not because they were deputies, but because in the first place it was the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy. It was worth trying to establish a dialogue at this level, which combines both politics and identity, as Western networks did everything possible to thwart the initiative. So that’s what scares them the most. It means that it is for such patterns that we need to build our foreign and domestic policy.
