The Balkan spring is replaced by NATO frosts

04.07.2017

The representatives of diverse citizens of the Balkan Peninsula, which are, at times, in rather difficult relations with each other, remembera big northern Russia which exists in the subcortex of their national consciousness. And this big Russia saved them more than once. It saved them from the bloodthirsty Ottomans, from Germans who eradicated them the methodically and massively, and even from themselves acting as arbiters of fierce disputes among the Slavs. And not only the Slavs. After the fall of the citadel of Constantinople, the Greeks, who at one time gave us the Light of Faith, traditionally relied on the northern people for many centuries. Most thoughts about the future and  prophecies of the glorified Greek saints contained  the words that the glorious Russians would come, they would  banish usurpers and defilers of the Hagar from the imperial throne and raise a cross over St. Sophia.

TheBalkanhope

And these prophecies were remembered even when, instead of crosses, Russians used sickles and hammers, red flags, overthrew monarchs, requisitioned, nationalized, expropriated, and used other methods of the class struggle. Someone could not stand such tests, and Mickey Mousewith Snickers, who promised freedom and free love, appeared nicer and more desirable.  Someone had a stronger patrimonial memory. As a result, the majority, being  in the embrace of a new feeling, realized that a funny guy with big ears did not promise any other love, except for a paid one, for real cents, in a certain quarter, but in the name of the great American dream.

However, despite visible scars from past executions, exile and beating from the protectors of socialist legality, they remembered something that was forgotten: battles shoulder to shoulder against the SS thugs at the walls of native cities, the monument to Alyosha, songs by the fire in Artek and the heroic profile of the "redskin " Serbian GojkoMitic, who beat up the world colonizers at the dawn of their vile imperialist activities. And the most important is that they remembered their own independent industry, pensions and social guarantees, the opportunity to work and receive a decent salary on their land, rather than in German bars or bars at Spanish coastal resorts.

And again, the generic, sacral knowledge came out in the subconsciousnessthat the big brother would not abandon them, he had already thrown away the ideology of German-Jewish sluggards and talkers, and now he has a national flag and the emblem is imperial, and the bells ring in the churches, and the leader is cheerful and bright and he does not bend under anybody. That's why, they voted unanimously and elected Rumen Radev, the president of Bulgaria, who graduated from the American military school, but promised not to participate in anti-Russian sanctions of the EU  and restore good-neighborly relations with Moscow. That is why, in the Montenegrin village of Murino, where as a result of the NATO bombings in 1999 the children were killed, mass protests brought aboutagainst the intention  of the leaders, who had been sitting in their leading positions for a quarter of a century,  to shove the country into this aggressive bloc. Perhaps, that is why ,they boldly took the parliament building in the Macedonian capital of Skopje, where they beat the socialist Zoran Zaev, the West's protégé, who was trying to please his masters and give the country  to the janissaries of the new world order - Albanians, by making their language as second statelanguahe, changing the national symbols and even breaking it into ethnic Cantons. And of course, it was not by accident two years ago that the newly elected Greek Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, having taken office, almost immediately visited Moscow.

Come away none the wiser

However, according to the visit, the Greek leader did not look as bright and radiant as before. And then he gave the country to the euro creditors, who swooped over it like a scavenger, promising in exchange for Western billions to reduce sharply the social support of people, to give control over local state enterprises to the European oligarchs, and to hold regularly gay parades in Athens. In order not to get upset from such achievements, the left premier and his cabinet started doing the favorite job of all the left governments which is the struggle against the Hellenic Orthodox Church ...

That was the first call to the states of the Balkans. It is a call that the world, unfortunately, continues to remain unipolar. There are certain movements, there are some disputes, there are outsiders, but the denominator is still one. However, hope wasalive. It was expected that they would say: " Comrades, you go the right way!",  support and  encourage. But the answer was only: "We support  the priority of preserving partnership relations, respecting the choice of peoples, and condemn any counter productiveness, speaking for objective modality within the framework of political discourse ...".

You could understand how you want. The Slavic states of the Balkans, after Greece, understood that you could not wait for the same support, when Yugoslavia was disintegrating in the nineties, from the direct heiress of the great empire that supported the tribesmen. And the pro-Russian rhetoric of Bulgarian leader Rumen Radev, who earlier tried to maneuver between East and West, suddenly dried up, and only pro-NATO and pro-European rhetoric remained. And the president of Macedonia, Gheorghe Ivanov, who was holding back the color revolution together with the support of the people, suddenly surrendered and conceded to the government and parliament populist Zaev and his Albanian accomplices. And the eternal political tandemof  MiloDjukanovic and Filip Vujanovic, who were in the power offices of Montenegro for a quarter of a century and came up with a fake "coup d'etat with the support of Serbian nationalists and Russian special services", in fact,  destroyed the anti-NATO Democratic Front, put in jail and intimidated their opponents, which eventually allowed them  to lead the country into the tenacious embrace of the North Atlantic alliance.

However, everything turned out to be much more demonstrative in traditional Russophile Serbia: on the eve of the presidential elections, one of the candidates, Prime Minister Alexander Vučić, was welcomed in the Moscow Kremlin. It was the same Vučić, who took an active part in the disclosure of the Montenegrin "coup" from the Serbian side, the same Vučić, who promised the voters to strengthen the integration processes into the European Union. At the same time, Moscow ignored the candidates who put forward pro-Russian slogans which were about integration, but not with the EU, but with Russia and the Customs Union,  the slogans that were made by the leader of the Radical Party, Vojislav VojislavŠešelj, the leader of the Serbian Movement “ Dveri” BoškoObradovićand the head of the Serbian People's Liberation Movement,Miroslav Parovic. The official statements sounded like this: "Moscow deals only with the acting authorities".

As a result, half of the Serbs frankly ignored the elections, and the rest half of them  supportedthe same Vučićwho  won and set a lesbian as the head of government,  who, according to rumors,  is Croat and was an active member of the Belgrade branch of Rothschild's "Tripartite Commission,". Vučić also came up with an initiative to transform the Eurointegrationcommittee into the full-fledged ministry.

Russian threat

And the same kind western partners came to the winner in order to accelerate this integration and put it into the right direction, but not promise anything to Belgrade, including the cherished membership in the EU. However, during the communication withVučić, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Hoyt Brian Yi, urged the Balkan states to oppose the strengthening of Russia in the region, since it did not correspond to the interests of these states. And the US ambassador to Serbia, Kyle Scottsaid  in his interview to a Serbian television that "the Russian humanitarian center in Niš(a unit that provides rescue services in case of emergencies) is a center for espionage."

"When the flood happened three years ago in Serbia, the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center helped us a lot to save people's lives," DraganaTrifkovich , the director of the Serbian Center for Geostrategic Research (Belgrade), commented  on the situation to Tsargrad in his interview, "No Western organization came to us to help.  But there is a NATO office in Serbia, but no one asks the question what it is doing here. A great number of  non-governmental organizations  are working  openly, but nobody accuses them of espionage. The anti-Russian propaganda is very active in the Balkans, and there are practically no arguments, but the accusations are more than enough, and everything is done to break our economic and diplomatic ties with Russia, so that many serious joint projects fail. The West offers nothing in return, no public or humanitarian alternative, no projects of its own. "

According to Trifkovic’s  opinion, Moscow's political activity in the Balkans is virtually non-existent, and anti-Western events were provoked by the citizens of the peninsula who got tired from the policies of the European Union and NATO, and from the fact that  the economic situation deteriorating  and the standard of living was declining. At the same time, the expert believes thatthe West, in its turn, will not leave the region alone, since after Britainexits from the European Union, Brussels will try to fill a gap by rapidly integrating the Balkans.

Mistakes that do not teach anything

The most interesting thing is that even the leader of the Bosnian Muslims, Bakir Izetbegovic, the son of the late Islamist and leader of the Bosniac separatists Aliya Izetbegovic, recognized the inability of Moscow to conduct its own political game in the Balkans and he even once provoked a bloodbath in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the help of the United States and the Arab-Iranian Mujahedeen. Thus, the current Bosniac politician, opposing the statements of Brian Yi, said that Russia did not conduct a destructive policy in the Balkans, and although it "unilaterally supports the Orthodox (Republic of Serbia  –autonomy in Bosnia and Herzegovina)but this will not go further. " As an example, Izetbegovic cited the changed rhetoric of the president of the Bosnian Republic of Serbia, MiloradDodik who recently returned from Moscow. Earlier, when Muslims and the West actively attacked the Bosnian Serbs for celebrating the day of their own republic, their president threatened that his state could leave Bosnia and Herzegovina and join Serbia, which could eliminate a historical injustice. But now, after talking with Russian politicians, Dodik, according to Izetbegovic, does not talk no more about the possibility of coming outfrom the former Yugoslav republic. Of course, the fact that the leader of the Bosnian Muslims was almost the lawyer of Moscow looks more than strange. However, the West did not allow him to send a secondary claim to The Hague against Serbia and accuse itof genocide allegedlycommitted against the Bosnian people.  And it means that the West tries toconsolidate all the Balkan people against the "Russian threat" and it is fully understandable.

"Nowadays, Russiais acting due to its economic interests and joint energy projects in the Balkans," Peter Iskenderov, the senior researcher at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, shared his vision of the situation with the Tsargrad observer. "Of course, Russia should also work more actively with the authorities of the peninsula states and with the opposition, especially the pro-Russian, but for the last twenty-five years,  Moscow has preferred to deal only with the ruling circles of these countries. But it is necessary to strengthen the work with the loyal forces, using economic and infrastructure projects as a mainlever, and responding to the challenges of our time. "

According to Iskenderov, the West, in its turn, does not slow down its activity, and the latest events in the Balkans can be perceived as a signal: "The EU and NATO will not give up plans for expansion to the East."

In fact, the situation that happened in the Balkan Peninsula strongly resembles the events in Ukraine. There, too, the Russian authorities did not want to work with local Russian movements,  they only contacted with the Party of Regions, whose leaders  ran and gave up everything, hardly they had seen a deteriorating situation . While Western non-governmental organizations were actively bringing the Ukrainian youth to their side that happened not only on the eve of the Orange Revolution and the "Revolution of Virtue", but started from the first steps of the independent Ukrainian state. And, Russia, in fact, did not support mass protests in Macedonia and Montenegro as well as it did notsupport mass protests in Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kharkov. People's initiative was suppressed in both countries, but everything in Ukraine was much bloodier, however, the result turned out to be common - the West practically took over the lands where Russian language, Russian power, had recently existed. As a response, there was a well-known reply -"priority of territorial integrity."
God and history rarely give a second chance, especially ,for those who do not make correct conclusions from what they have gone through.
