Against the Liberal Post-modernity
Antonio Gramsci once said, no one can remain indifferent forever, someday we have to choose sides and the right path. So, what differentiate Eurasianists from the western post-modernists such as Jordan Peterson is that we consider post-modernity as a complete departure from modernity that has fomented chaos at every layer of society. For the western post-modernists, post-modernity demands the repossession of the lost liberal values of freedom, equality, individualism and liberties. However, in our case, we believe that Post-modern age is a complete chaos and this chaos can only be overcome by appealing to lost traditions of antiquity such as mysticism, spirituality and by appealing to the classic age that represents the hey-days of human civilization.
With the birth of hyper-materialism and hyper consumerism the very essence of individual has transcended from a natural entity into an artificial agency with a complete detachment to the natural world. In our opinion, the reevaluation of the liberal values (in Nietzschean sense) cannot even sway the ongoing post-modern chaos. There are two major reason to defend our position on the subject. First, to understand the ongoing chaos, fomented by the post-modernity, we must closely look into the post-modern condition of humanity as a whole. The post-modern condition refers to a situation in which the human realm has completely lost its natural essence—An inflated degeneration from being to an artificially constructed self. The very identity of “being” that has been the core of every civilization throughout human history has lost its authentic meaning.
Moreover, the inauthenticity has already taken over natural foundations of human strata at the both social and personal spheres. In Heideggerian view, DasNicht (nothingness) is dominating every layer of human realm by causing the crisis of being under neo-Kantian liberal conditions. Second, the super-inflated progress of the disruptive technologies at the global scale is hindering sacred traditions of the ‘human beings’. Here the sacred traditions refer to the natural process that assisted and propelled the development of human civilization over the course of the centuries. In the natural process, human being remained at the core of every progress and development by playing the role of socio-political agency. The language primarily used by the liberal post-modernists has the elements of matrix type simulation that promotes illusive insignia of collective progress of human realm.
Nonetheless, in every language the verbal colors, syntax, and psychology that has been used matters the most. Hence, in most of the writings of postmodern liberal thinkers such as Jordan Peterson and Jurgen Habermas, the use of the latter -mentioned language patterns concerning liberal reaffirmation appears much frequent. However, the recent technological process based on artificial intelligence and algorithms is gradually altering the agency of this long historical process by putting artificial intelligence-based robotism and automatism at the core. In this respect, the post-modern conditions refer to the great human displacement from the core of the progress and development that is taking place around human realm with complete isolation and singularity. The artificial intelligence led technological development has reduced the role of human beings to a “guinea pigs” by pushing them towards the periphery of the whole development. In this regard, the problem with the liberal post-modernists is that they are the sympathizer of the post-modern consequences by acting as apologists. The liberal post-modernists clearly understand the age of chaos but at the same time they sympathize with the progress of the disruptive technologies.
They believe that the dying old order can be resurrected by limiting the reach of disruptive technologies to human realm, which is indeed a speculative imagination. Unfortunately, what they don’t really understand is that the post-modern conditions are a battle between consciousness and imagination between being and self, between existence and artificial living. The post-modern condition has squeezed human realm in between hyper-materialism and fetish consumerism, which is just like a mud between the two bricks of the destroyed building.
