Libyan Crisis on The Agenda: Moscow Conference Outcomes

December 5, 2018. Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, a candidate for the presidency of Libya, was directly linked to the Russian leadership in the Kremlin.

Both sides exchanged views on the tragic situation in Libya.

Seif al-Islam Gaddafi has not spoken publicly since his release from prison almost a year and a half ago.

The Russian authorities have announced contacts with the Safe al-Islam Gaddafi. For the Kremlin, it is obvious that supporters of Muammar Gaddafi should be integrated into the Libyan political process.

It is in this context that two representatives of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi met with Mikhail Bogdanov, Vladimir Putin's special envoy for Africa. The emissaries asked for political support from Russia.

Seif al-Islam Gaddafi chose Russia to take the first step toward returning to the political arena in Libya.

American-made crisis

There is a way out of the crisis, it was determined by the Libyan patriots themselves: this is a peaceful Libyan dialogue, a dialogue between all Libyans, without outside interference, a dialogue that will enable the Libyans themselves to create their own "road map", to see the only road that will lead to peace Libya. "We are grateful to the Russian people for their unwavering solidarity with the peoples of the Arab world:

"We ask citizens of other countries to support, morally and politically, our path to peace, the Libyan path, the path through open, transparent, democratic parliamentary and presidential elections."

Member of the Libyan House of Representatives (Tobruk) Ali Al-Said Al-Qaidi said that the delegation that visited Russia and represented Seif al-Islam Gaddafi is part of Libyan society. Its goal was to convince the Russians of the need to achieve its representation at the community forum (conference), which, during its last speech to the UN Security Council (November 2018), promised to hold (in January 2019) UN special envoy for Libya Hasan Salame.

In an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Al-Qaidi expressed the hope that the letter of Seif Al-Islam Gaddafi addressed to the Russian Foreign Ministry contained a solution to the Libyan crisis.

The letter from Seif al-Islam Gaddafi stresses that Libyans should discuss their affairs themselves, without exception and discrimination against anyone, determine their own destiny through comprehensive reconciliation and organize the upcoming elections.
