Elections in Hungary: Orban wins the battle for Visegrad

The Hungarian Prime Minister and the chairman of the FIDESZ-Hungarian Civic Union party, Victor Orban, announced the victory of the ruling coalition in the parliamentary elections held on April 8. The turnout was unprecedentedly large, and the ruling party managed to recruit the majority of votes in the parliament.

The elections were attended by the "Jobbik" party (the "For the Best Hungary" movement) led by Gabor Vona, the joint bloc of the Hungarian Socialist Party and the "Dialogue in the name of Hungary" party, the Green Party - Politics may be different "and" Democratic coalition "of former Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany.

 

Orban's political goals

 

Fidesz has already ruled three terms. After the first term, there was a break with the rule of the socialists, which brought the country to the brink of economic collapse. In 2006, there was a revolution in Hungary - because of the crisis, Hungarians took to the streets against the government of Ferenc Gyurcsany.

This year, the main emphasis in this election campaign was made on the migration issue. The second theme of Fidesz is the struggle with the "Open Society", networks of George Soros and NGOs, which encourage internal destabilization.

The third important topic is the protection of the Christian values of Europe, which is especially important in the context of the Islamization of the continent and the demolition of Christian churches. Curiously, on the eve of the elections there was a shocking precedent: the city of Szekesfehervar was expelled from the competition for the title "European Capital of Culture" in 2023 for the fact that Hungarians are too "white, cheerful and dance" in the presentation video, and also propagandize Christian values.
