Interview with Hannibal Moammar Gaddafi from Lebanese Prison

For the first time since his conclusion, Hannibal Gaddafi agreed to answer several media questions. In an interview with RIA Novosti correspondent Rafael Daminov, he spoke about how he was in a Lebanese prison. Questions to the prisoner Hannibalu, as well as the answers to them, were received through the authorized representative of Hannibal Rome ad-Debri

- Who and how kidnapped you in Syria?

- I was abducted in Syria by an armed gang on December 6, 2015. I was illegally transported from Syria to Lebanon in the Bekaa region. The kidnappers took advantage of the band allocated to the military so that the Syrians did not search the car. I was held there for a week, physically and mentally tortured in order to force me to disclose information concerning the disappearance of Musa al-Sadr and his two companions - Sheikh Mohammed Yakub, this was his son who prepared the operation for my abduction, and in 1978.

- You were detained in Lebanon on charges of concealing information on the case of Musa al-Sadr. Is there any official investigation of this case, is the trial initiated? And do you really have any information about the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his two companions?

“I’m in Lebanon’s security prison.” From the moment of my appearance here, a judge met me, leading the case of the disappearance of Musa al-Sadr and his companions. In short, this case can be described as follows: in 1978, during a visit to Libya, Musa Al-Sadr disappears with his two accompanying ones, Mohammed Yakub and journalist Abbas Badruddin. In 1982, their disappearance case was transferred to the Lebanese Judicial Council. In 2008, my father Muammar Gaddafi was accused of stealing Musa al-Sadr and his companions. However, in this case I have not been in any way since 1981, I was neither a suspect, nor a witness, nor an accused. That is, it turns out that the reason for my arrest has nothing to do with this lawsuit, I was arrested just because I was the son of Muammar Gaddafi.

After I told the judge who was investigating the disappearance of Musa al-Sadr, that I did not have any information about the disappearance of Musa al-Sadr, I was accused of concealing information about the case. The fact is that when these events occurred in 1978, I was only two years old.

- Who, in your opinion, is responsible for the disappearance of Musa al-Sadr?

- If they want to find out the truth about the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr, why not ask those who were in power at that time, for example, Abdel Salam Jellud (for many years Jellood was considered the second person after the leadership of Libya) engaged in the 1978 Lebanese affairs. I believe that the Lebanese simply do not want to solve this problem.

- Are your wife and children visiting you? Where are they now?

- No, they have not been able to visit me yet. I am very worried about them. In Syria, in connection with the events there, they are not safe, and no one can take care of them. They need a father.

- What is your physical condition, health?

- My physical condition is unsatisfactory. I suffer from chest pain, respiratory failure, pain in the lower back, skin problems due to lack of sunlight. I also have a broken nose and a hematoma on my head due to the beatings that I underwent during my abduction.

I would like to point out an important point, I ask the United Nations to send a group of doctors to Lebanon to visit me in prison, to make a medical report about my condition.

- What are your conditions in prison?

- Prison conditions are unsatisfactory. In addition, I cannot get in touch with the media, and those who visit me are next time barred from entering Lebanon.

- Do you have plans to participate in political life after you go free?

- It’s too early to talk about this now, I can’t argue on this topic or make any decision. I want to note that in the years of my work in Libya, I have never held posts in the security services. I was only an adviser in the field of maritime freight.

We are counting on the large role of Russia as a great state in such cases of arbitrariness. I thank her for the efforts she is making for my release.
