In Sudan, there was an arrest of the president during the coup. His entourage is also blocked by the military, according to Al-Hadath.

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir was arrested by the military who carried out a coup d'etat, according to television channel Al-Hadath. High-ranking officials from the president’s circle are also in custody.

Protests demanding the resignation of the Sudanese authorities have continued since December last year. It is believed that they were heated from the outside. A few hours ago, media in Sudan said the army was ready to make an "important announcement" on the radio. At the same time, the media reported that the military surrounded the presidential palace of Omar Hassan al-Bashir.

The military council is preparing to take power during the transition period. Citizens are urged not to leave their homes unnecessarily, and additional units of the army and armored vehicles are located on the streets of the capital. In addition, according to the latest information, Khartoum International Airport is closed.
