Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian Activist in Central West Bank

Basel Mahmoud al-Araj, 33, from the village of al-Walja, West of Bethlehem, was killed when Israeli soldiers broke into a house he was hiding inside in al-Bireh. His body was reportedly kidnapped while the soldiers were withdrawing from the area, WAFA reported.

According to medical sources, two Palestinians were also injured during clashes with Israeli forces in the area.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli authorities re-detained former Palestinian prisoner Mousa Mahmoud Darwish from the village of al-Issawiya, North of Jerusalem, shortly after he was released from Naqab prison in Southern Israel.

He had spent 12 years of detention before his release.

The committee of the families of Jerusalem detainees, said staff from the Israeli intelligence detained Darwish immediately after he was released by the Israel Prison Service outside Naqab prison.
